Brixham

Generations have been enchanted by the charm and romance of Brixham, a colourful and bustling fishing port at the southern end of the English Riviera. The hilly town is built around the central harbour area, which remains the lifeblood of this historic town. Vibrant fishermen’s cottages gaze out across the port and the fishing trawlers below.

Life here centres around the harbour. Wander around the many shops, watch the fishermen unload their daily catch or head down to Artist's Corner. Within walking distance from the town centre you will find some of the English Riviera's most spectacular scenery.

Dartmouth

This historic quayside town, situated on the banks of the River Dart, is filled with narrow winding streets, hidden steps, boutiques and stylish galleries. Home to the magnificent Royal Naval College, the town is a foodie heaven with Mitch Tonks running two of his own revered operations. Take a short trip up river to Totnes or a day trip out to sea along the coast to Brixham. Dartmouth Castle, the first purpose-built artillery tower in the country, is well worth a visit.

Dartmoor National Park

Dartmoor is an area of outstanding natural beauty, characterised by bleak and beautiful moorland, rugged windswept tors and huge expanses of wilderness. You can be on the edge of the moor in just 30 minutes. Hidden amongst the beautiful scenery are coutless old villages and towns like Widecombe, Ashburton and Chagford well worth exploring. Cream teas and real ale are specialities in all.

A rugged and wild national park, steeped in legend and home to thousands of ancient monuments, burial chambers, stone circles and archaeological sites. Huge granite tors dominate the extraordinary landscape, with heather and gorse blanketing the high ground and green and marshy vegetation below. Dartmoor is excellent for walking, while other ways to enjoy the park include cycling, climbing, watersports, fishing and horse riding. There are countless delightful towns and villages to explore including Princetown (the striking home of Dartmoor Prison), Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Ponsworthy, Chagford, Sticklepath and Drewsteignton.

Salcombe

Salcombe is a famous resort and sailing centre. It is the Southernmost town in the South Hams: an area of unspoilt natural beauty, so rich and varied, there is always something new to discover. Salcombe is surrounded by tranquil countryside with a magnificent scenic coastline.
